Busting excuses

Why you deserve a boudoir experience

It’s easy to make excuses when you get nervous. We make excuses not to love or take care of ourselves because life gets busy, things are crazy at work or you tell yourself you’ll just do it later.

But later never comes and the “I’ll do it when I lose 15 pounds” or “when I have a better job” phrases keep coming out of your mouth.

I know it’s easy to believe those thoughts flying through your brain that are keeping you from doing what you really want, but you deserve to do what lights you up and brings you joy! So let’s dive into things I hear allllll of the time when clients are saying they’re not ready.

“I just don’t have time for myself”

It’s also important to remember that if you aren’t taking care of yourself mentally, you’re not going to be able to handle taking care of everyone else, which makes sense but is actually much easier said than done! Sometimes I am the WORST at making sure I am giving myself mental health breaks and that’s why I think it’s so important to share this with you. I make the same excuses too and sometimes I need someone to look me in the face and say “SLOW DOWN. Give yourself a break. Breathe for a minute!”

At a boudoir shoot you are able to stop, slow down, breathe, and love yourself for a few hours. Think of all the energy you’ll save on a daily basis if you stop comparing yourself to others, or stop worrying about what other people will think of how you look. You get to see where your beauty really comes from and this lifts such a huge mental weight.

You need to take time for yourself, why not spend it having an amazing time and getting glammed up for one??

Did you know that the body type portrayed in advertising as the “ideal” body is possessed naturally by only 5% of American women? ONLY FIVE PERCENT.

I will say this over and over again (sorry not sorry if you’ve heard me say it before), but WHY do you have to be a certain size before you give yourself permission to LOVE yourself?! WHY do you have to fit a strangers idea of a perfect body to LOVE your own body?! WHY are you comparing your size to anyone else?!

I think it’s amazing to have goals and way to get healthy, but does that mean you have to hate on your body to do those things? Absolutely NOT. You should (and can) love yourself every step of the way. Own where you are and be proud of it, even if you are trying to change it (and even if you are NOT trying to change it!). Have a boudoir shoot to celebrate where you are now and then when you hit that goal of yours let’s celebrate again!

“I never feel sexy or sensual anymore so a boudoir shoot must not be for me”

This excuse is actually the EXACT reason you SHOULD do a boudoir session.

Oftentimes we lose touch with our femininity or sexuality when life gets crazy. It happens to so many women and is absolutely normal and okay! A great way to find this side of ourselves again is to have a boudoir shoot done to put that spark back in us. I can show you that you have that side inside you somewhere!

Another thing to remember is that you don’t HAVE to wear super sexy clothing/lingerie. If you feel that doesn’t show your personality, then there are so many other outfit ideas and options. If you need ideas, I’m your girl!

“A boudoir shoot is an investment and I don’t have all the money right now”

Yes, a boudoir photoshoot IS an investment. It is also an investment in yourself. You are investing in your confidence and self love! Many of our clients take advantage of our flexible payment plan options to plan for their session investment by breaking it down into monthly payments. You are worth it.
